Wiggins and Randle Visits

  • Who knows what ends up happening but I don't think we could ask to have two better visits from a "what happened during the game" standpoint.

For Randle we got him for the team I think we were most worried about in Texas and we smoked UT as UT looks like a smoking crater.

For Wiggins we get him for Senior night and, more importantly, when there was a pretty good sendoff for Ben McLemore.

I have no idea what it will mean in the end. Probably nothing. But as far as timing I don't think we could have done a lot better.

  • I totally agree - we may or may not get either of them, but we definitely put our best foot forward in the process. Now we just have to trust that they'll make the right decision and come win a National Championship with us. :-)

  • Maybe I misunderstood the new rule, but with as great as these late season visits can be, I'm surprised we're not seeing juniors take advantage of the ability to start officials. Maybe the highly ranked kids that would warrant it are too far from deciding.

You still have to get a qualifying score on the SAT/ACT prior to taking an official visit your junior year. I know I didn't take the SAT until late my junior year. I would bet most of the top junior basketball recruits have been concentrating on their basketball season than worrying about taking the SAT.

Is it get a qualifying score or just take the SAT/ACT? It used to be the latter.

  • Not sure if its just taking the SAT or ACT or actually having some sort of qualifying score. But I do know you have to send your SAT/ACT score along with your high school transcript to the NCAA clearinghouse prior to being approved for an official visit.
