Wiggins

  • Do you think the absolute horrid game FSU played against Florida last night will hurt states chances with Wiggins? Does it help any of the other schools like UNC (who are not looking very good this year) or KU's chances?

Is Wiggins even a priority of Coach Self or is he letting that one go?

I dont think team play has any effect on Wiggins' recruitment.

And I doubt Self is losing sleep over him. Zero chance he goes to KU.

Would be an absolute shocker if he goes anywhere other than Kentucky or FSU. The pitiful start to FSU's season isn't helping their cause. Not saying it is a deal breaker, but Wiggins wants to win and play with winners.

Sounds like Kansas. Under Self (or Roy or Larry Brown for that matter) KU doesn't have down years. Its definitely looking like KU will have the best season overall between UK, UNC, and FSU. And if Wiggins really wants to win I think a line-up of the following would win (and win and win...):

    C - Randle/Embiid
    PF - Ellis/Traylor
    SF - Wiggins/Green
    SG - McLemore/Seldon
    PG - Frankamp/Rio

People will argue with me, but I'm perfectly happy with these "lost cause" recruit visits. The staff knows how to budget their time and it's not like we're going to fill our 12 visit limit. Play the lottery now and then. Even if we don't get him, having elite talent speak highly of the program is a good thing, even if another fan base gets to say they beat us out for the kid in the end.

I have no problem bringing him in for a visit, especially since we don't need him. Would he be a nice addition? Of course. But, if we swing and miss with Wiggins and Randle, we still have an obviously top five class that could almost fill out a really solid starting lineup (a little wing heavy, and post short for that). Some years it bothers me more, but for 2013? Why not? We have four top 50s and another top 100 already booked.
