Ninth Straight!

  • Now let's go run the other string to 5!

  • Scott Drew is all that stands between us and an outright championship. Time to come out and kick some ass.

  • 9 straight... look at some of these teams pre-season and there are so many question marks, by the end of the season we have POTY candidates. Self is amazing

  • Even this season was a massive question mark. All the recruiting misses the last few years and it never bit us. It's truly historical to behold.

  • Well, some of the excitement of winning our 9th has been taken away by this debacle in Waco.

Definitely takes some of the luster off, but the last time we shared the crown was 2008. :-)

In 2008 we didn't lose to a team that couldn't beat anyone else in conference play, and then backed into a share of the title by losing to a team by 23 points that had a losing record in conference play. This game was very telling and our 9th title lost a lot of luster for me today.

Telling of what? I don't feel like we learned anything new. We already knew this team was capable of playing bad, flat basketball now and then. I don't know why, but there won't be any games from here out with any sense they don't matter. This team could lose in round two or win it all and I wouldn't be shocked. Losing in round 1 would still shock me.

Pretty much. It's not just flat, though, it's that we're extremely susceptible to teams with point guards who can get into the lane and dump off to guys when our bigs help out and commit to the block. Nothing groundbreaking there, I don't think - I've been more scared of Michigan and Trey Burke than almost any of the other top 10 teams for quite some time. Duke is scary because I'm not sure Withey matches up well with Plumlee, but Indiana doesn't scare me in the slightest because we match up so well with them at every position.

  • Jackson had a great game and they were hitting the open shot. It's not like other teams haven't had that shot.... they just didn't knock it down.

I'm not so discouraged by this loss. The team wasn't as competitive as I would haveliked, but Baylor was insanely hot in this game and Jackson kept the defense completely off ballance. They hit the proverbial buzzsaw as it were.

  • Once they knew the kitties lost, the game was a big question mark.

I think we packed in in after we got it to 6 and they were able to extend again. We hung in and countered as best as we could until that point against a team that was on fire. Then we just kind of folded up shop. Baylor is always dangerous if they are hitting from outside because they will take so many of those shots. An obnoxious way to end the regular season to be sure but if we go onto conference titles 10, 11, 12 ect after this no one will remember or care.

We could get to 17 straight and they'll still point to 2013. Let them have their sad little victory.

In typical Weber fashion he wins with someone else's players. Just like at Illinois his teams will gradually get worse as he can't recruit top talent. Mediocrity is right around the corner for K State.

The silver lining here is that they'll never be able to run Weber now. They could barely stomach dumping Wooly, and he was never good!
