Joel Embiid's decision

  • Hearing it is looking good for Kansas. Coming from a good source.

    Announcement tomorrow (Tuesday).

  • It does seem like all the internet rumors are going KU right now. Any idea what time he will announce tomorrow?

  • I am excited about our chances with Embiid. The kid looks pretty darn athletic for a 7 footer. I think he will really be a good player for us in a couple of years under Self and Huddy. A great recruit to add to an already impressive recruiting class.

    I feel comfortable with this being our class and going hard after Jones, Okafor, and Vaughn for 2014 while most others are still working on 2013. Why waste time on guys most likely not coming here when we are already at our scholly limit and can get a leg up on the 2014 guys.

    I don't know if I'd call it "wasting time" to get out and see Randle and Wiggins and have them in for official visits. Do I think they'll eventually choose KU? Probably not (though I still think Randle is a decent shot), but when players who are as talented as they are legitimately express interest and, in the case of Randle, you spend so much time on them over 3-4 years, you see the process through until they pick someone else. Randle and Wiggins are that good.

    Not sure why the change. Any changes would make an out of town leader at least blink. Haven't heard anything different about where he is leaning, though.

  • Thursday would make me more nervous. He could go to tomorrow's UF game if that happens. The announcement day has shifted among Tuesday-Thursday several times.
