The NFL just announced the schedule for the games next weekend, and the CBS game on Sunday is in the early time slot, so our game with Temple is the 3:30 tip.
Thanks for the heads up, been waiting patiently. That changes my plans for the trek up to Lawrence a little.
Can't wait for this game. I think it's going to be a battle and a good test for our young freshmen.
I think this game is going to be the real evaluator as to where this team is at this point and how we're going into conf play. Lord knows that what we've seen so far and knowing coming out of christmas break HCBS has his teams in great form your hopes have to be sitting up in the clouds somewhere. Should be a great game.
I really don't see it. Temple is not a great team and is not much of a shooting threat from outside. Tell me why I should be concerned here. Looks to me like a team that beat Cuse because Cuse surrendered control I the offensive glass. Cuse didn't make squat from 3 either. Not a team to take lightly but not a great team either. We will have to play down to be challenged here.
It will be interesting to see if we can continue to stay hot. It wouldnt surpise me to see us have an ugly game. I just think we are due for a game where we labor a little. It's very hard to keep playing at the extremely high level that we have played over the last month. Just a guess, however.
I am interested if we can keep rolling against a better team. I didn't think we played all that well against American University, honestly. We shot extremely well, which makes it difficult to judge how well we did a lot of other things (as well as skews the final margin). Temple is a legitimately good opponent, but I'm not sure they're a bad matchup for us.
I agree, I got carried away and for whatever reason was thinking of Butler instead of Temple. I do think that Temple is legitimate and can win this game if we don't come out ready to play with the energy and effort necessary but having said that, we should win this game. If we can come to play with the mental attitude and toughness we have been playing with, I think it will say something about this team, either way they can only get better which makes me wonder just how good this team will get to be.
I think the type of team that worries me the most is one that can play 5 guys out away from the basket and has a lights out PG surrounded by other guys that can shoot the ball. So long as we are able to put Jeff in the paint we are stout defensively. If we can't do that things get much more iffy in my view. The key for us in a game like that is to have Jeff assert himself offensively and force the other team to play with size. But that is easier said than done at times.
Temple is the perfect type of game for KU right before conference play. They are a good not great team that KU will have to show up to beat. This type of game will get the rust off from Christmas break before the team takes on a good ISU team to open conference play. Good job of scheduling IMO.
What a game. Not the prettiest or best officiated, but this will help our guys grow.
Temple did exactly what they needed to to try to steal one on the Jayhawks home floor. But in the end they just didn't have enough guns to get it done.
I can't wait until McLemore has ther light turn on and can get into his offense when he wants it...
Live to love, love to live
A good game for us to have. Had two shots to bury that team though and just didn't execute. Thought it was our least patient offensive game from about the 10 min. mark in the first half to the ten min. mark in the second since very early in the year. Too many quick shots and over aggressive passes.
Withey played a mans game and got the crap beat out of him all afternoon. EJ was crap then nails late (except for that late 3). Releford is key for us.
