Yes, we all know it's way too early to pay real attention to bracketology, but Jerry Palm's on CBS caught my eye a moment ago. Does anyone believe that if we're a 1 and MU is a 2, the committee won't put us in the same region?

I think monkeying around with the 1's and 2's is a bit too obvious for them to engage in. If it works out then they will do it. But if MU is a pretty clear 5th in the nation and KU were the 1 I don't think they could get away with it. Plus it is a pretty speculative game to schedule with everyone having to win 3 games.
I would imagine that if they can cram KU and MU into the same pod for a second round matchup it will likely happen in the future. Kind of like KU seeing Illinois in the tourney.
The conspiracy theories are really quite awesome, but I just don't buy that things happen like this. For a few years, I did my own S-Curve and bracket, and I have to tell you there's almost no way to just make things happen like that by monkeying around. There are so many such story lines and so many teams that it just naturally happens every year. Every time I did a bracket, I was scrambling right up to the selection show (one of the reasons I don't do this any more) just to make sure I'd met all the criteria, and that was before the conferences expanded to such unwieldy numbers.
